Time Management Is Everything in Life - Here's Why

Time is a limited commodity pertaining to anything and everything we do.  Theoretically, we have 24 hours per day to do anything we want.  Realistically, A person’s usual schedule involves 5-8 hours of sleep, 8 hours of work, and 8 hours of doing whatever they want to do.  Usually, we enjoy taking a break from our everyday tasks by relaxing during this 8 hour period.  It is important to recharge after a long day’s work.  However, people become accustomed to their routines so much so that making a change can seem harder than it actually is.  Instead of relaxing and doing whatever they want, the person is having to step out of their comfort zone and allocate time to a new task.  Because time is such a precious resource, using it on tasks that do not provide immediate happiness can cause stress, anger, and a lack of motivation to continue.  However, thinking long term, using our time to work towards something beneficial is how we achieve, prosper, and create a schedule involving less time working and more time relaxing.
People share similar mindsets of wanting something but being unwilling to put in the time to get it.  It involves allocating time from relaxation into something which could involve hard work, unpleasantness, and exhaustion.  The fact of the matter is, however, if you want to achieve something, then you have to put in the time, even if it can cause unpleasantness.  We are instinctually wired to maximize pleasure and minimize pain, but we are also intelligent enough to know pain can lead to pleasure.  Most of us know this but are still hesitant to make the change due to their comfortability with their current routine.
In the end, it all comes down to time management.  We need to ask ourselves what the best use of our time is and whether or not we are happy with our time allocation.  If the answer is no, then it is time for a change.  Stop talking and start acting.  Take an hour out of your relaxation time to work on making a change.  This will ease you into the new routine, allowing you to adapt and get used to the change.  Eventually, it will become the new norm.  Personally, this blog was created and maintained with the same mindset.  I eased into the change of writing every week until it became habitual.  I now make time to write it every week without even thinking about relaxation.  To me, it is just something I have to do and enjoy doing.  Think of something you would like to accomplish and do just that, ease and adapt.  You will thank yourself later.  Make time to live the life you want.

The Importance of Taking Baby Steps

Have you ever set a goal for yourself only to lose interest later down the line?   This happens to a lot of people and is usually the result of biting off more than you can chew.   Contrary to popular belief, multitasking is not something people can do.   If we don’t focus on one particular subject at a time, the quality of what we are doing will suffer.   This is why I encourage everybody to take baby steps when it comes to goal setting.   Do not set multiple goals at once and expect to follow through with every single one at once.   Doing this will decrease the motivation to continue because you feel less likely to succeed the more overworked you feel.      Think of the goals you have set for yourself in the past or present.  Now, take one particular goal and focus on it.  Keep the others in mind but focus on your chosen one in particular.  Once you succeed at achieving this goal, choose another one....

How Communication Can Repair & Strengthen Relationships

Communication is the key to success in all aspects of life.  We often assume people know how we are feeling, but this is not the case.  Nobody truly understands how you are feeling unless you tell them.  To quote Eleanor Roosevelt, “You wouldn’t worry so much about what others think of you if you realize how seldom they do.”  The Importance of Communication      Without communication, we tend to overthink, overreact, and become emotional.   We lack answers so we make them up in our heads.   Small problems become big problems real quick, and we may lash out at the other person.   If you don’t know what’s going on in the other person’s head, how can you expect to understand their way of thinking?        When we communicate, we learn from the other person’s perspective.   Instead of using our own perception to justify something, we learn the real reason behind someone’s actions, ...

The Meaning of Thanksgiving - a Few Words to Remember

Tonight's blog will be shorter than usual due to Thanksgiving, but I still wanted to leave you guys with a few things to remember.  Thanksgiving, or any holiday for that matter, is about family, friends, and making memories, wouldn't you agree?  Personally, I love being able to see my extended family, even if it's for a short while.  The holiday season is, to some, the only time they are able to get together with family and enjoy their company.  Sometimes we need to be reminded of this, so we remember to enjoy the time spent together.  Even if you do not get along with some of your family members, times like these are perfect for making amends if possible.  Do you have any memories like this?  If so, I would love to hear them in the comments.  Overall, remember that Thanksgiving is more than just about eating but sharing a moment with those you love.  Happy Thanksgiving everybody and I hope your day is filled with food, fa...
