Life Is About Choice - Here's Why

Everything we do, accomplish and experience is a result of choice.  There is no limit to how high one can fly.  We are limited only by our ambition and imagination.  If we want to accomplish a goal, we must make the choices necessary to reach it.  Obstacles, such as a lack of self-confidence, feeling tired, and laziness are choices that prevent us from succeeding.  We often make ourselves believe we are too busy, tired, or not skilled enough to succeed.  It is important to realize that the way you see yourself is a choice, and this can change whenever you want it to.
If you want something, go out and get it.  If you want to lose weight or be more active, go exercise.  Do not makeup excuses to stay home and do nothing.  By doing so, you are choosing to fail at your goal.  Always keep in mind that goals take effort to achieve, and making the wrong choices will hinder your progress.  The right choices are those which allow you to push towards success.  If you go running instead of staying in the house, then you have made progress in becoming healthier.  If you want to become rich, which is what many people want to achieve, then do some research, work hard, and put in the time and effort necessary.  Many people want to succeed but choose to do something else rather than making progress, such as relax.  Relaxing is fine but there is a difference between relaxing to recuperate and using it as an excuse to do nothing.
I am confident in saying that you are capable of doing anything you set your mind to.  Choose to succeed, not to be lazy.  If you make the excuse that you have no time in the day, then make time.  Chances are, there is a time in the day you can use to make progress.  It is up to you, nobody else.  The difference between those who are successful and those who are not is their mindset and their life choices.  Those who successfully make the conscious choice to succeed and prosper.  Those who are not successful choose to make up excuses, work the minimum amount required to live and regret their decisions later in life.  Stop wasting time, make a change today, and be the person you want to be.

The Importance of Giving PT.2 - the Dos and Don'Ts

Should we expect to be praised for our deeds or to receive nothing in return?  Does ego play a role in generosity or is humbleness a necessary mindset?  A year ago, we talked about the importance of giving and how beneficial it is to both the giver and the receiver (Link here if interested:  https://scanlonblogs.blogspot.com/2018/11/blog-8-giving.html ).  We also talked about how happiness comes from giving and helping others and how material wealth only goes so far.  What we did not discuss is what we should anticipate and the proper way to behave throughout the process.  The art of giving involves understanding the dos and don'ts based on the situation at hand.  Not every instance of generosity will include the same factors as the previous one.      Do you believe kindness should be met with a reward?  I personally believe it depends on the situation, but we should never expect to be rewarded.  If you give money to a homeless man, your act of kindness may not lead to anyt

Three Life-Long Lessons to Remember #2

Do you need a reminder of what is important in life?  How about the proper way to handle a situation when feeling angry or stressed?  If so, you have come to the right place.  If you know these bits of information already, just remember its important to be reminded every now and again.  So, without further adieu, here are three life-long lessons to remember #2. 1. Money Isn’t Everything      Wouldn’t it be nice if tomorrow, you won the lottery?   The sheer joy you’d feel would probably be something you’ve never experienced before.   What would you do with the money: buy a house, go on an exotic vacation, quit your job?   When this type of pleasure flows over you, the possibilities feel endless.   No matter what you do, being financially free would make you happy, at least for a while.   Eventually, you would want something more than just financial freedom.   Having money is great, but what are you going to do with your money and newly acquired spare time?      We need

The Meaning of Thanksgiving - a Few Words to Remember

Tonight's blog will be shorter than usual due to Thanksgiving, but I still wanted to leave you guys with a few things to remember.  Thanksgiving, or any holiday for that matter, is about family, friends, and making memories, wouldn't you agree?  Personally, I love being able to see my extended family, even if it's for a short while.  The holiday season is, to some, the only time they are able to get together with family and enjoy their company.  Sometimes we need to be reminded of this, so we remember to enjoy the time spent together.  Even if you do not get along with some of your family members, times like these are perfect for making amends if possible.  Do you have any memories like this?  If so, I would love to hear them in the comments.  Overall, remember that Thanksgiving is more than just about eating but sharing a moment with those you love.  Happy Thanksgiving everybody and I hope your day is filled with food, family, and memories. 📖  Be sure to add S
