Jared's Life Advice #1

Hello everyone,
I am trying something new for tonight's blog.  Instead of having a singular topic, I thought it would be a great idea if I provided general life advice for you all.  The goal of this blog is to provide some advice everyone needs to be reminded of from time to time or brought to light.  By doing so, I hope you will incorporate this knowledge into your own lives and grow as a person.  So, without further ado, here are tonight's three bits of life advice!
1. Never Give up Hope
Life can be hard, and everyone goes through difficult times.  You may feel anxious, stressed, or overworked.  We often let this negativity consume us, a form of self-sabotage.  We forget life is also filled with joy, happiness, and wonder when in this funk.  Sometimes, we need to be reminded that everything gets better with time.  Through time we grow, experience, and learn.  Mistakes are made, but nothing lasts forever.  Life is a roller coaster of emotions which we need to endure in order to survive and prosper.  Hardship comes and goes as happiness does.  Never give up hope that things will turn around, because they will, as they have to those before you.
2. Do Not Judge, Accept
We focus primarily on ourselves.  As a result we often forget everyone has a different story to tell.  People are similar, not exact, which means our opinions and life choices differ from those surrounding us.  We cannot judge others for how they choose to live.  As long as they are happy and are not hurting anyone, there is no reason for them to change.  More so, it is not up to you to decide the paths of others, only yourself.  So, do focus on yourself, but accept others for who they are and how they choose to live.  When life ends, we all end up in the same place.  We should all have the opportunity to live the way we want to without being scrutinized.
3. We Do Not Need to Become Successful to Be Successful
I encourage everyone reading to follow their dreams and shoot for the stars.  We all have the opportunity to become famous, rich, and/or a public influence.  What I do not encourage is believing this dream is the only way you will be truly happy.  At the end of the day, we are all just people looking for purpose and happiness.  We can attain these wants as normal people living life in secret.  You do not need to be famous to feel important when you have a family that shows appreciate for everything you do.  Money is great but luxury is not necessary to be happy.  People have plenty of nice things without being millionaires.  We do not need to be as famous as a celebrity to be well-known for our hard work.  Those who surround us in our daily lives can look to us for guidance and think of us as role-models.  At the end of the day, we can be successful without achieving everything we want in life.  There is plenty to be thankful for, remember that.

Three Life-Long Lessons to Remember #2

Do you need a reminder of what is important in life?  How about the proper way to handle a situation when feeling angry or stressed?  If so, you have come to the right place.  If you know these bits of information already, just remember its important to be reminded every now and again.  So, without further adieu, here are three life-long lessons to remember #2. 1. Money Isn’t Everything      Wouldn’t it be nice if tomorrow, you won the lottery?   The sheer joy you’d feel would probably be something you’ve never experienced before.   What would you do with the money: buy a house, go on an exotic vacation, quit your job?   When this type of pleasure flows over you, the possibilities feel endless.   No matter what you do, being financially free would make you happy, at least for a while.   Eventually, you would want something more than just financial freedom.   Having money is great, but what ...

The Meaning of Thanksgiving - a Few Words to Remember

Tonight's blog will be shorter than usual due to Thanksgiving, but I still wanted to leave you guys with a few things to remember.  Thanksgiving, or any holiday for that matter, is about family, friends, and making memories, wouldn't you agree?  Personally, I love being able to see my extended family, even if it's for a short while.  The holiday season is, to some, the only time they are able to get together with family and enjoy their company.  Sometimes we need to be reminded of this, so we remember to enjoy the time spent together.  Even if you do not get along with some of your family members, times like these are perfect for making amends if possible.  Do you have any memories like this?  If so, I would love to hear them in the comments.  Overall, remember that Thanksgiving is more than just about eating but sharing a moment with those you love.  Happy Thanksgiving everybody and I hope your day is filled with food, fa...

How Communication Can Repair & Strengthen Relationships

Communication is the key to success in all aspects of life.  We often assume people know how we are feeling, but this is not the case.  Nobody truly understands how you are feeling unless you tell them.  To quote Eleanor Roosevelt, “You wouldn’t worry so much about what others think of you if you realize how seldom they do.”  The Importance of Communication      Without communication, we tend to overthink, overreact, and become emotional.   We lack answers so we make them up in our heads.   Small problems become big problems real quick, and we may lash out at the other person.   If you don’t know what’s going on in the other person’s head, how can you expect to understand their way of thinking?        When we communicate, we learn from the other person’s perspective.   Instead of using our own perception to justify something, we learn the real reason behind someone’s actions, ...
