Three Ways to Spend a Lazy Sunday

A Sunday is a great day to just kick back and relax.  Whether it be catching up on chores, spending time with family, or doing absolutely nothing, Sunday is there to recharge your batteries and get you ready for the week ahead.  What if, however, you have all this time on your hands but do not know what to do with it?  Well, I am here to tell you the many ways you can spend that unused time to make your Sunday memorable and worthwhile.  Here are three ways to spend a lazy Sunday.
1. Sunday Drive
You never know what you will find while going on a Sunday drive.  whether your single or in a relationship, going on a Sunday drive is a great way to get out of the house.  Not only will a drive give you something to do, but it can also transpire into something unexpected.  Since most people have a lot of free time on Sundays, it is a great time to drive to places unknown and see what is to be discovered.  For example, you could decide to drive to an area that you have yet to explore.  While on the road, you discover some cool shops, restaurants, or scenic areas.  As a result, you now have something new to do and a new potential area to explore.
2. Cooking
Sunday is the best time to cook because there is plenty of time to plan, prepare, and eat.  This is why Sundays are usually used to have big meals with the family.  Cooking, however, is not just a good way to get the family together, it is also relaxing.  Cooking is a fun activity, especially with other people.  Personally, there is nothing I enjoy more than listening to music while focusing on cooking a great meal, especially in the colder fall and winter months.  The reward is getting to eat your creation, and what is better than homemade food?  Not only that, but people love those who can cook, so being the chef of the family will really give you some brownie points.  Comparatively, cooking with other people allows us to socialize, laugh, and make memories with other people.  We often become closer to those we cook with because you work as a team while also having a good time.  Overall, cooking on lazy Sundays will give you a chance to make memories, enhance your culinary skills, and spend your free time relaxing by yourself or with your friends and family.
3. Catch up on Shows/Movies
Sunday is a great day to kick back and catch up on the shows and movies you have been dying to get into.  Not only that but there may be a show you have not heard of yet that you could discover while surfing Netflix or public television.  I personally love shows like Live PD and Phantom Gourment which I would have never discovered if not for a lazy Sunday channel surf.  If you want to have an even better experience, invite your family, significant other, or friends to watch with you.  Becoming immersed in the same shows and creating a new routine where you all watch them together is something to look forward to.

The Importance of Giving PT.2 - the Dos and Don'Ts

Should we expect to be praised for our deeds or to receive nothing in return?  Does ego play a role in generosity or is humbleness a necessary mindset?  A year ago, we talked about the importance of giving and how beneficial it is to both the giver and the receiver (Link here if interested:  https://scanlonblogs.blogspot.com/2018/11/blog-8-giving.html ).  We also talked about how happiness comes from giving and helping others and how material wealth only goes so far.  What we did not discuss is what we should anticipate and the proper way to behave throughout the process.  The art of giving involves understanding the dos and don'ts based on the situation at hand.  Not every instance of generosity will include the same factors as the previous one.      Do you believe kindness should be met with a reward?  I personally believe it depends on the situation, but we should never expect to be rewarded.  If you give money to a homeless man, your act of kindness may not lead to anyt

Three Life-Long Lessons to Remember #2

Do you need a reminder of what is important in life?  How about the proper way to handle a situation when feeling angry or stressed?  If so, you have come to the right place.  If you know these bits of information already, just remember its important to be reminded every now and again.  So, without further adieu, here are three life-long lessons to remember #2. 1. Money Isn’t Everything      Wouldn’t it be nice if tomorrow, you won the lottery?   The sheer joy you’d feel would probably be something you’ve never experienced before.   What would you do with the money: buy a house, go on an exotic vacation, quit your job?   When this type of pleasure flows over you, the possibilities feel endless.   No matter what you do, being financially free would make you happy, at least for a while.   Eventually, you would want something more than just financial freedom.   Having money is great, but what are you going to do with your money and newly acquired spare time?      We need

How Fate and Personality Intertwine

We are born with a unique personality which is then shaped by the environment we grow up in, but how does this play a role in what we call fate?  Our personalities determine our likes, dislikes, thoughts, opinions, and the choices we make throughout our lives.  We consider fate to be events beyond our control.  We often believe what transpires from these events is supposed to happen without our knowledge and are determined by the universe.  However, I believe our unique personalities intertwine with fate.  Our personalities shape us into who we are and determine how we handle life events.  Fate, in my opinion, is the initial event that we cannot control.  What happens afterward is determined by our personality and the paths we choose to walk.      What if a nuclear apocalypse decimated the world today and you were one of the survivors?  How would you deal with the aftermath, and would you consider these choices fate?  Based on my view, the event itself, the dropping of the bo
